Mid 70’s, cloudy, windy with some drizzle. Feels like the first day in September when the heat finally breaks.

Yep and picked up almost another 1.5” of rain.  Polar opposite of the past couple summers so far.

I am unbelievably jealous as I sit here in triple digit heat index days in Knoxville. After such a temperate spring I'm already looking forward to fall.

Beryl's track has given some cooler temps for the western areas of the mid-south for at least tonight and tomorrow. Unfortunately, the miserable heat returns this weekend.

After warming up by the end of this week and a hot next week the GFS has a nice cool down for the end of next week. Keep the breaks in the heat coming and Im happy.

Absolutely, I am still not seeing any heat locking in over us yet.  This upcoming spell will be the longest so far but just 4-5 days then a break.

Looks like most of Middle TN and East TN are suffering drought conditions or at least abnormally dry. Temperature predicted to be around 100 next Monday and Tuesday in MBY which won’t help.

See very little rain on models next 15 days , around the 20th or so little break from heat. Then ridge builds back over us, back in the oven again

extremes in Summer are just longer and more intense than extremes in Winter around here.. is that just a matter of Latitude, climate change or pure randomness of weather dynamics?
"When an infinitely small variation of the present state will alter only by an infinitely small quantity the state at some future time, the condition of the system, whether at rest or in motion, is said to be stable but when an infinitely small variation in the present state may bring about a finite difference in the state of the system in a finite time, the system is said to be unstable."
