The discrete cell threat was always strongest to the NW of us. U cannot listen to hyperbole on this board or anywhere else. The chance was there for supercells here but it was always a much smaller threat than to the north.   For some reason this one brought out a bit more hyperbole than usual.

There are some damage photos coming in from the Bowling Green area that definitely looks like a spin up tornado occurred up that way tonight.

nice gusty severe thunderstorm rolled through Downtown Chattanooga.. seems like it's been a year or so since one that strong. 40 to 50 gusts most likely.
"When an infinitely small variation of the present state will alter only by an infinitely small quantity the state at some future time, the condition of the system, whether at rest or in motion, is said to be stable but when an infinitely small variation in the present state may bring about a finite difference in the state of the system in a finite time, the system is said to be unstable."

If that tornado goes up to an EF-4, that would be the third EF-4 (violent tornado to hit Southern Hopkins County and especially the areas in and around Earlington in the last 20 years.

Graves as well, the Hopkinsville area is a magnet for shorter-lived EF-1 to EF-2 tornadoes (several of which were within 3-4 miles of my location), there have been a crap-ton of those in the last 10 to 12 years.

I wonder if that morning round will be classified as a derecho.  We have several EF-1+ tornadoes and or/80MPH+ winds surveyed from SE Missouri all the way to Fentress County TN and into eastern Kentucky.

Sikeston, MO got hit by an EF-3 tornado during the Sunday Morning Squall Line, and that portion was pure squall line.

Just an example, that you can sometimes get strong tornadoes in squall line/QLCS situations.
