Definitely, and the system appears to have slowed down as well.

I guess this is Redbud Winter, but the Dogwoods are also blooming.

Even though the afternoon event was largely underwhelming, that morning event across MO/IL/IN/KY/OH/WV was quite significant.

The NWS of Paducah has at least 7 spots of confirmed either macro/microburst or tornadoes from the morning round, and WV/East KY had a few 90-105MPH wind gusts.

The bloom of the Bradford pears have already run their course around here for the most part. They're leafed out and the white blossoms are gone (thank goodness, since they stink ;) ). There's a dogwood blooming right across the street from us, so I believe Beth when she observes dogwoods blooming now.

These tree bloom "winters" are debatable anyway... I think there have now been two or three separate cold snaps while the redbuds have been in bloom. :D

We probably are getting into dogwood winter territory at this point.

The radar has that “pox” look of cold core convection behind the front- chilly weather with showers and storms popping in the CAA.

The morning line of storms during this event from SE MO through IL/IN/KY/S OH and WV has now been classified as a Derecho, with multiple 70-90MPH wind gusts and likely over 25 tornado reports.
