Yea not much of a threat in TN really. Few strong storms with wind.

First day 1 outlook just posted…they keep pushing it further south and east. Don’t see that we will get much more than borderline severe storms at any point in TN.

I am giving props to spc this year, i think they have done much better this year than in years past of adjusting the risks instead of sticking to the day 2 outlooks and waiting until the event starts to start trimming it up. The data just shows the higher threat is in Mississippi (as has been the case in several events the past few years, they cannot catch a break). Not saying something cannot happen in the slight risk , but more widespread chances to the south

Looks like convection here this afternoon will rob instability for early evening. Also looks like convection bubble further south may rob moisture. That’s great news here. Down south into central MS is a different story but haven’t looked that hard down there.

I definitely wasn't expecting to see a PDS watch for this system. That's definitely a concerning look on radar currently too.

* Until 630 PM CST.

* At 606 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located over White Bluff,
  or 10 miles northeast of Dickson, moving northeast at 65 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

We surprisingly had some thunder here in Knoxville when the rain moved in this evening. I wasn't expecting it this early.

I was in Burns about an hour ago. The STW hail verified at quarter-length but it was out of town within 30-60 seconds. Super quick!

I’m on the eastern side of Dickson near Hwy 70 and 96 and yes, the hail was as big as a quarter and some almost ping pong ball size. Got the kids in the basement and it was over. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen in my 30+ years living here.

Do we have a definition of what a bust is?  I don't think was a bust but it also didn't really perform quite to expectations as well.   

Is there a middle ground or is it more of a toogle switch?

There have been tornadoes on the ground with TDS warnings within and around that moderate risk down in LA, MS, and AL this evening. I wouldn’t call the system a bust.

Now, if you were expecting something similar up here in TN, your expectations were probably off. But, the system on the whole has been productive.
