Good Lord... mean temp of 87. That's pretty hot. I might guess you're ready for it to cool down a little?

KMEM had an avg if 87.1 for the month with 97 and 77 as the average hi/ low. It was on pace with July 1980 until the heavy rain mid month, then lost ground albeit hot. Ended up with over 4 inches of rain which mostly came in 2 days. Yesterday’s rain was exactly what we needed- steady for hours. I have a feeling we have now peaked on the heat and will have normal summer temps when a couple days here and there in the upper 90’s but nothing like it was. KMEM has tied 1952 for the most days over 100- and it might end there.
It still could happen but I dont think people realize how hot 1980 was and how hard that record is to break. As a youngster growing up in the country with nothing to do but play outside I think 1980 is the reason I hate stupid hot summers.

I couldn’t tell much difference in usual summer be honest … I played baseball that whole summer with travel team .
