I hope it rains soon. When we go this long without rain I start to get nervous about Georgia invading to steal our river water. They miss being able to tap Nickajack reservoir by about 200 yards. They’ve tried legal avenues to redraw the state lines in the past. Someone once wrote a satirical piece about war tactics for a theoretical water war in the Chattanooga area that mimicked civil war battles. Wish I could find it now. It was fascinating.

on the humidity, i think Louisiana has everybody beat....swamps everywhere

I've lived in most of the places being debated. Louisiana wins for crappiest summer weather, hands down. Absolutely brutal. I'm going back down for a couple weeks next month and dreading it. I got used to it when I lived there, but I've grown soft in my time away. I'm also older

Yesterday was the earliest 97 at KMEM since 1911. Gross. I'm sure the heat index was off the chain at some point yesterday. MJO in Phase 6 which is raging heat during May-Jul. Its moving to 7-8 next which is much cooler. Yes please.

I am very thankful for the much needed rain this afternoon.  Even some minor flash flooding here.  Easily over an inch of rain.  This evening is perfect temps.  Great evening sitting on the screen porch.

Looking at temp & moisture trends on the next 10-14 days.  Which will change.  I will take it.  May touch 90 a couple days but lots of days in lower to mid 80’s with chances of rain.  I will book this type wx all summer if possible.  🙏🏻

those low mid 80's are the normals for this time of year....like you say those 90's are on their way later on , enjoy it while it lasts!!! if we could have 90's with 50 dew points that is perfect

Storm north east of Lebanon is actually pretty intense. Had some small hail not even pea size but the rain was torrential and winds was pretty stout for the smallness of it. Probably not severe but I wouldn't wanna be driving it and it has quite a bit of cloud to ground lightning.

Could be clusters of severe this afternoon with more than abundant CAPE. Cooler early, quick warm up, then possible 40’s for lows next weekend.
