The warm water between Cuba and Florida has kicked in and Elsa is back up to hurricane strength. This will probably be the year's first landfalling hurricane tomorrow.

Sad about the 7 year old that lost his life on Monday at PCB.   Parents need to keep their eyes on their children at all times. The gulf under tow took him right on out.  Prayers for his family! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

The Cancun zone is highlighted as a very high-risk threat for tropical systems probably starting in Mid-August once things become more favorable.  The TX/MX border is another zone to watch as well.

Same, Destin on the 20th. Last year, TS Matthew (?) hit while I was there.

Reporting is showing that Invest 94L in the Caribbean is likely to develop into a Tropical Depression. The way-too-early tracks show it going into the Gulf but who knows what or even if it will be by then. Not a major threat at the moment but something to keep an eye on.

It will be interesting to see if dry air or land stunts it's growth. Even if this does not fully develop, the early activity in the Atlantic is note worthy.

Just unreal. First beach vacation in over a decade and both the GFS and Euro are putting this system right into my time frame and location on the west side of Florida. I really hope this changes.

We are risking it with a Labor Day week trip to Isle of Palms. Got lucky last year with fantastic weather. We typically go earlier in the year to avoid the risk of a Cape Verde system.

It's looking increasingly likely that we'll get a TS up the west coast of Florida. This one should be worth tracking.

We could sure use some rain in middle TN.  Like a all day soaking rain.  Does at least look like cooler temps by the weekend though. 🙂

We've now got Grace trailing behind Fred. Things are starting to pick up, but fortunately we're not dealing with hurricanes at this point, just tropical storms.

Right now the best thing for Grace to do is to stay north.  Especially with what just happened in Haiti this morning.

Even a tropical storm with locally heavy rain will make things much worse for those impacted.
