Winter 2020-2021 Fame and Infamy Candidates!
« on: March 05, 2021, 06:25:13 PM »
With us finally getting an active season in parts of the state and the winding down of Winter for the area I thought I would post a poll on what threads should be moved the the Hall of Fame and Infamy sub forum.  The purpose of this sub forum is to allow a one stop place to browse all the historic storms and weather events for the area and keep a historic record of these events as they happened we can all look at years down the road.  As the forum title alludes to, this should be for only the biggest events (or just as major of a bust in the case of infamy).

Considering the active pattern and the amount of events, I set the poll to allow you to pick 3 events and the top 3 will be moved once the poll expires in a month.
If I missed a notable storm, let me know which one and why its notable and I can add it.  Everything that was left looked to be a light/minimal event, but I did not read the threads in their entirety.  I also did not note any big busts this winter which is good for everybody's emotional well being!  ;D

What is the thread title for that one?

I believe this is the one:

I went ahead and moved it over. Notice by thread length, it now blows anything else we’ve moved out of the water so far at 309 pages.

Here's some I thought of:

Dec. 2018 Winter Storm Diego- big hit for NE TN with 1' of snow in Kingsport

Jan 15-16, 2018: 6-8" for NW TN, lighter amounts for much of the state

White Christmas 2010
Nashville's Big Hits (since '98)

April 16, 1998 Tornado
January 16, 2003 Snowstorm
Summer 2007 Drought
May 1-2, 2010 Great Flood of Nashville
June 2012 Record Heat Wave
February 2015 Tennessee Ice Storm
January 22, 2016 Winter Storm Jonas
March 3, 2020 Tornado

That was a good one. It got everyone in the state.

Added, I missed this some how.
Everyone can change their vote if you want to pick this one.

March 2 2014 is a big infamy one for Memphis other than the "blizzard". It was so bad it was almost hilarious. At least we knew the blizzard had slight bust potential. But the 2013-14 winter has to be some kind of record for 33 degree thunderstorms.

I was thinking the vote was just for threads this season. I had already moved this one from 2010. If nothing else, the thread may be one of the longest threads if not *the* longest event thread in TNWX history.

I was shocked that we or I didn't move that one sooner that one is probably one of the most complete winter storms in this forum's history.  It is like having KISS or Deep Purple have to wait a few years for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

We can do Rock and Roll Hame of Fame style and add up to 2-3 winter events and 2-3 severe weather events every year.  There are still some winter and severe weather events that are worthy of the debate.
