Pretty much a general consensus of a below to well normal temps for the last half of March.

This would be a surprise to have below normal temps last half of March correct?  Most were expecting a late warmup in February to March even being warmer if I am remembering correctly.

If we're going to have below or well below normal temps sometime this spring, I prefer late March over April.  A cold March keeps the trees & plants dormant.  A warm March followed by a late season cold snap in April isn't good for all things green.

Yes, my Japanese Magnolia gets a solid full bloom once every 5 years because of a early warm up , then cool snap ... its going to snow again here anyways before the end of the month. Major snowstorm to form March 17-25th. Just feel it.

The below zero temps from 2 weeks really put the trees into a late dormancy state. Usually, Bradford pears are blooming after a few days in the 60’s and 70’s but not this year. It gave me a chance to cut the Japanese maple back today. I do see some daffodils coming up though.

Things are still pretty dormant here. Not ready to mow yet, maybe in another week probably 2 or 3 weeks away for most spots though. My yard gets thick quick but so far just a few patches of green and a few onions really greening up. I am still a good 7-10 days from a true mowing, maybe even a few more than that. ::popcorn::

Same. It's nice to ditch the mower for an entire winter. I haven't had to mow since early November, and I think I'll be good through the end of this month, possibly even into April.

We had winter this year. I can't take it for granted.

We we're spared the worst of the Arctic outbreak here, but despite that, my spring bulbs are just coming up.  The daffodils are about a quarter way out of the ground--far behind the last few years when they were blooming by now.  The last several winters, the stems appeared in early/mid-February.

This week's mild weather will accelerate their growth.  After tomorrow morning's upper 20's here, it doesn't appear we'll be below freezing again through next weekend.
