Mid-March 2021 Cold Weather Chances (week of 3/15)

In much of the state, March averages more snow than December.  Tell the lambs they can wait til April.  March is still a month for business in TNM. While most years are busts, March is quite the prolific producer of monster snowstorms in TN.

For the record, while I see no indication of wintry threats in the first half of the month, it won’t surprise me if there’s one last cold snap rally late in the month before spring sets in for good. We’ll more than likely have something we’ll refer to as redbud and dogwood winter, etc.

I just won’t be wagering Vegas odds on anything significant.

agree with u...  usually a severe event brings them in. Something keep in mind . Super outbreak April 74. Places like Ohio had snow flurries day after ....

The MJO continues to look like it's headed to the cold phases in the middle of the month. If we indeed go into phase 1 and or 2 we will get a shot for sure. Usually the first of march is our snow ticket but it can happen in the middle part of the month. Nashville biggest 24 hour snow ever happened just a few days past the middle of the month. My broad time frame that I believe will bring our best chance is sometime between the 10th-20th. I would say right now between the 13th-18th would be my prime time. If the MJO gets to 1 or 2 we are for sure in the game.

12Z GFS says after the Ides of March, Old Man Winter may swing by for another quick visit.  The 18th looks particularly cold with snow showers/flurries nearly statewide. 

Of course this is La La Model Land, so it's likely to change.  But every March has a split personality.  I'm sure this one will flip face at some point.

243FT of snow is coming , I can feel the core of the earth slowing down that will allow air I have been holding in my attic to release into the Southern state. This in turn will cause a major reaction and the stock market will take a **** . Oh wait , it already is, tanks you Spring. Severe coming strong with the possibility of absolutely nothing happening.
