February 17-18 Winter Storm (Verifed Event)
« on: February 13, 2021, 08:46:13 PM »
We are going to need another thread for this one that will be right behind the other. Some models try and warm things...but snow cover will tamper that since the storms are so close. Fire away.

So far the guidance has overdone temps all week here in montgomery county. For instance they called for 28 here today and truly most of the day was at 22 except for about a hour when it went to 24 only to drop back down to 22 less than a hour later. The last 3 days they have been off anywhere from 2-5 to high on their guidance. With storm one putting down a snowpack across much of the area and arctic air still around the model guidance is probably going to not handle the arctic air very well there either I would think. It will make for interesting convo when the first system is done.  ::yum:: ::cold:: ::snowman:: ::snowman::

Put on my big snow boots and
I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the freezing rain

Snow up high
Won't you pour down over me
Yeah, I got some accretion
But I'm as blue as a boy can be

Can you have a watch while a warning is still occurring for a separate event?

Yes.  Happened to me once when I was in NJ.

I am bearish on Storm 2 unless you are West of the TN river. At that its going to be another Ice storm. Nashville first then Memphis.

storm 2 not really far off having snow profile . 1.5 off at 850 Jackson  n west . Still looks like nice thump snow tail end  I am not worried bout 2m temps

That's actually pretty cool.

Now, call your friends in Jersey and tell them to pay attention.... your about to have the greatest winter storm of all-time in Mississippi!
