Y'all seeing whats going on down in Texas with the power/electric situation? Over 4 million people without power with teens and single digit lows.  ::cold::

I mean.... this sounds like a joke.  I wasn't aware that people had to spend large parts of the winter in the 60s without power but that must have been the case because power companies are not equipped for this.

Population is about 3 times what it was in the 60's, plus they aren't real used to this widespread of cold across the State. However, I'm sure there is plenty of blame to go around as well regarding infrastructure.

MS and AR Entergy says they might have to do rolling power outages soon. Considering OK /TX/MO have had to do the same this is not a good sign

Whoa.  Where did you hear this?  Entergy is my provider.

Not sure where this snow is coming from but its been snowling lightly but stead and has slightly picked up.  We may squeeze another inch out of it if it keeps going for a while.  Its been like this since about an hour or two after the main system departed around 3PM.

Noticed a little light snow breaking out around paducah, seems to be dropping down through LBL area later. Wonder if any lake effect may kick in??? Actually it's snowing here again. ::snowman:: ::snowman::

TIL dual Pol products are also handy in tracking this low hanging light snow that doesn't show up at all in traditional reflectivity.

Cold air finally arrived overnight on howling winds. Temps in the 20s and continuing to fall slowly this morning--down to 25 now.  Had a few decent snow showers that put a dusting on cars and the deck. Definitely a big change from the last week of somewhat mild temps.

Nice coating of snow since last night... perhaps half an inch, perhaps more. With the cold temperatures and ice base, even a light amount is efficient. I think there is a river n' lake effect component to the streamers on radar.
