The four major cities in Tennessee recorded a warmer than average January. Below is the departure data for January, 2021 pulled from NOAA's NOWdata website.

Memphis +2.6
Nashville +4.3
Chattanooga +3.8
Knoxville +1.5

It didn't seem that warm here, but then again we never really had any arctic shots nor did we really torch minus a day or two here and there.

This tells me how ridiculously warm we've been over the last 5 years.  This January felt frigid compared to most of those years, and it was still above normal.
