I hadn’t seen this one yet of the tornado as it was in Mount Juliet. The police department just posted it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The damage path is still very evident in that stretch along I-40 between Mt. Juliet and Lebanon.
It was very much a wedge at that point wasn't it
In appearance, it likely was due to low LCL's (cloud base) and probably other things that we don't fully understand. See Sam Shamburger's video of it versus the screen grabs from Mt. Juliet. Little to nonexistent condensation funnel versus a fat wedge about 20 miles farther down the path.
makes sense.....when it approached downtown some videos I saw it looked like more of a stovepipe type funnel at that point
From all the videos I've seen, it went sort of like: stovepipe (west Nashville), bowl funnel with no cloud to ground condensation (TSU/North Nashville), to small cone with no condensation (passing downtown/East Nashville), to cone (Donelson/Hermitage), then wedge (Mt. Juliet), before no further videos are seen.I can't imagine the amount of video had this been at 1230-130pm, but also likely a much higher death toll.
