I think we both had mentioned that just because you see a stretch of possibly below normal temps, it really is relative...."below normal temps" in feb is not really that cold....55 is normal high right now so even at 10-15 degrees below normal it is only 40-45 degrees and not cold enough.......for feb and early march winter weather you need dramatically below normal temps

I cannot remember a season with this amount of low pressure systems going across Midwest without hardly any at all along the gulf :(

I'd be pissed if I was in Wisconsin.

Weve had as much snow as Des Moines this year.  At least they had one last year!

Well my friends ... say time to start either a March thread or a spring 2020 thread... cause models n ensemble s  pretty consistently showing a pretty nice severe threat first week March . Gfs been kind showing different solutions but king euro been really consistent with this threat .. thus far cape looks pretty good along with big time shear . Only question has been moisture return but models seem been increasing that  ::coffee::

The NWS in Morristown just issued a special weather statement for Wednesday night and Thursday morning in the Tri-Cities. Light snow accumulation below 2,500 feet, 2-4 inches above 2,500 feet, and 6 plus inches in the Smokey Mountains. Another elevation snow. We have had a bunch of those this winter. The top of Sugar Mountain at 5,300 feet has already had over 48 inches this winter so this event will put them over 50 inches, crazy stuff
