If what yíall are talking about materializes Iíll be amazed. What I am seeing is 3-4 days in the next 15 with highs below 50 and the rest 50+ degrees.  ::pondering::

Several explanations. The first is high temps don't really mean anything.  You can have a high of 50 at 11 AM, a cold front comes through and temps are in the 20s by sun down and its snowing at 7 PM.  This is particularly true in our area and temp swings within 24 hours of 40 degrees are not unheard of.  The second, is forecasters factor in climatology in their forecasts, especially 48+ hours out.  The forecasts are not strictly based on global models.  Lastly you have dynamic factors like evaporative cooling and column based cold air advection with upper lows.  You simply cannot surmise the weather by high temps alone.

Unrelated - sorry I stepped on  your post and hit modify instead of quote.  ::doh::  I restored it back to original.

I havenít looked at any models but I assume this next batch of colder air is a bust for any potential snow. I see Johnson City has a chance of snow showers Wednesday and Friday night but no accumulation right now

Today was beautiful...just a few degrees too cold. Can we stick a fork in this winter already?

I think winter is officially over except for a few snow showers this coming week up in northeast Tennessee in the Tri-Cities area with a dusting at best

Wednesday thru Sun am looks pretty chilly with a couple of chances for snow. I'm not sure what else those of you who are winter fans can ask for given the time year and our recent track record.

A little late in the game but first good look on this end of state in forever. Has about a 1% chance at this point.

To enjoy things in life that are good, you first must endure things that suck!
