yeah... agree... top analog I been seeing... along with 09 10... the 76 77 keeps popping up around lot... boy if its anywhere near 76 77... fun times ahead for sure... and many late nigh model hugging...

Late lit model hugging.  ::guitar::

If we had a winter even remotely like '77, TNWX would implode and explode all at the same time.  Think supernova.

How about the following rough stats pulled from the NOW data for Nashville:

12/29/76 - 1/31/77
20.3" of snow
27 out of 34 days with snowcover
only 1 rain event
7 winter events
12 days with lows in the single digits or lower
only 6 out of 34 days with highs above 40
T or more of snow on 14 days
only 2 days above normal

If you think thats impressive check out what happened the very next winter!
1/9/78 - 3/4/78:
24" of snow
31 days with a T or more of snow
50 days with snowcover

incredible 36 straight days with snowcover from 1/9 thru 2/13
23 days with highs below freezing
10 winter events
2 rain events
only 1 day out of 63 above normal
only 1 day out of 63 with a high over 50

No wonder they thought we were going into an ice age. Hard to believe that was only 40 years ago.

A testament to how much rain our region has seen this year (and autumn): All 9 dams along the Tennessee River are spilling water, currently, and several lakes are at their highest levels ever for this time of year.

I was 13-14 years old during them winters, I believe we will see that type of winter again at some point. That is why I watch winter, I also want to see the 12" inch 24 hour record snowfall record fall in Clarksville. We actually have made a run at it a time or 2 over the years. That's the goals I have, even if they aren't reached that we will make runs at them from time to time.  ::popcorn:: ::cold:: ::snowman::

Looks like good traveling weather today.

Happy Thanksgiving y'all !  Safe travels, if that's on the agenda.  Traffic is already heavy here this morning.

With all it's flaws, I'm thankful to live in the U.S.A., and grateful to the good Lord above for my family, friends, and an abundance of food.  We are truly blessed big-time.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Interesting weather this year--especially for the big parade.

Most surrounding offices to MRX have issued dense fog advisories--except for MRX.  They've decided not to issue an advisory, despite the morning forecast of "widespread dense fog."  Doesn't make a lot of sense.

Today
Widespread dense fog, mainly before 7am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 62. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph.

Welcome to the board, I guess. You should be able to post images, but you may have to get to 10 posts first. At least that's what I remember before I could post here.

Plateau and Mtns. may pick up an inch or two Monday night.

I would suggest eating a gigantic bag of hot dogs, that may help.
