Winter's last insult.  Parts of South Carolina may see snow mixed with rain tomorrow morning.  In April.  It may come down hard enough for a quick slushy accumulation near the NC border.

In April.

I saw that on the NAM runs but disregarded it. Is that for real?

...WINTRY MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW LIKELY THROUGH 9 AM ACROSS
SECTIONS OF THE SOUTHERN PIEDMONT AND SANDHILLS...

As precipitation moves into central North Carolina from the south
early this morning, the presence of cold dry air at the surface
will lead to a wintry mix of rain and snow. During instances of
heavier precipitation, the mixture may temporarily change to
heavy wet snow.

While little if any impacts are expected from the wintry mix,
where the bursts of heavy wet snow occurs, the snow may briefly
stick to grassy surfaces before melting.

...SNOW SHOWERS DEVELOPING ALONG AND NEAR THE INTERSTATE 77
CORRIDOR IN THE CAROLINA PIEDMONT THIS MORNING...

Rain and snow showers developing along and near the Interstate 77
corridor in the piedmont of the western Carolinas this morning
will transition more to snow showers through 9 am as the
precipitation rates increase. Although the ground remains
relatively warm, increased snow shower rates could permit some
accumulations to begin to develop on grassy and elevated surfaces.
In addition, any heavier snow showers may briefly limit
visibility.
Use caution if traveling this morning.

Any snow accumulations this morning will melt quickly this
afternoon as the sun comes out and temperature warm through the
40s and reach the lower 50s in some areas.

O well, how better to end a horrendous winter than snow going to our south in April.

Yup.  Thanks to that wonderful thing, east of the mountains salvaged a decent winter (NC & VA).  Their one huge snow event in December would've been enough to make me happy.

I think the whole problem was that Mr Wonderful never did post this past season.
Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.

Winter 2019/2020 is our year for something. Whether it will be winter weather or not is a crapshoot.
Iím sure JB will hype it up as the next ice age

Personally, I'm hoping winter forecasts this year are  ::blowtorch::. People said 2010-11 would be warm. Nope. People said 2015-16 would be a torchfest. Outside December, it produced. People said 2013-14 would be below average snow-wise for the interior southeast. I think we know how that turned out. I'll be nervous if the forecasts for 2019-20 resemble 2018-19.
