Mass chaos unfolding on Nashville roads. 440 has been shutdown as well as many main arteries in spots.

Bad situation unfolding on the interstates. I have a really bad feeling we are going to see people stranded for hours because crews can't clean off the interstates due to congestion.

If you look at the HRRR and RAP snow totals...BNA is right in the middle of what looks like the deform band.

Been there done that in 2003, I feel sorry for those folks.  They won't make that mistake again.

I got an email at 7:59 am saying that all state offices are now officially closed today. I think that decision should have been made much earlier. Many of the people stuck on the interstates now are probably state employees. Some of them may be critical to snow removal as well.

Reports of thundersnow in Nashville at 715am! Yep, this storm system is so strong it is producing lightning and thunder while snowing - very rare for Tennessee!

2 inches at my place. Greater than inch an hour rates.

I'm not kidding that I'm literally near tears. This will be more snow than I've seen at my house certainly since I was 12 (Jan 97 in memphis), and maybe since I was 3 (Jan 88 in memphis)
