The latest RAP and HRRR simulated radars are really good for the Nashville metro and most of mid TN. Both pinwheel the heaviest deform band snow across middle TN thru the day. Nashville looks fantastic and even areas south and east of town do really well. If it pans out that way some of those snow maps they are showing on local TV need to be adjusted south of Nashville. Also confirms my thinking that OHX should upgrade Wayne, Lawrence, Giles, Marshall, and Bedford counties to a warning.

Sleet/snow mix. Trees creak when the wind blows, thankfully the freezing rain looks to be over.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how this is going to work based on radar

Put on my big snow boots and
I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the freezing rain

Snow up high
Won't you pour down over me
Yeah, I got some accretion
But I'm as blue as a boy can be

NWS service updated projections put CKV at 9.9 inches. I hope that's verifies. ::popcorn:: ::cold:: ::snowman::

I think you've got that made, but if that heavy deform band sets up shop over mid Tenn I'm going to hold out for a foot!

Upper level lows are a mindfrick. ITs not like watching a blob of precip move. Precip develops and falls apart as the ULL moves

Large area of sleet lifting northward into Davidson County should be nail in the coffin for clear roads before the changeover to snow.

That's what I'm saying.   We're not even in the deformation band which is where pretty much all of the modeled accumulations were supposed to come from.

I'm looking at that zone over in Arkansas and it appears to be detaching from the main precip shield.  I'm mentally comparing that to all the Sim radars images from models I've seen in the past 24 hours.

Kind of an oxymoron, but the sleet is accumulating pretty rapidly here.
