The latest HRRR is thankfully pretty low on the ice(only a few hundreth's and up to a tenth in NW TN/TN-KY border) potential versus some other model runs particularly the NAM.

Charles L., what's up with the HRR warm trend?  Concerning?  Looking like more of a cold rain than anything?

No, far too early to be concerned. It will be something we need to watch closely though.

I'm an admitted "foul-weather friend" on this forum hence my long absences from posting/reading threads but I seem to recall that the 18z models are generally considered as **** compared to the others?  Does this hold true on short term modeling as well?

Why exactly would anyone do that when EVERY mode except the fickle nam 4k - and that is not bad for most in Memphis- is the only one ?

We are in HRRR range, leave that NAM and GFS alone

Not at all. Not every model is going to be an ace of spades. Everything is still looking good, as a whole, for Memphis to see a very decent snow.

Hoping that's not a trend. No need to be too concerned yet though. Unless 18z GFS and the 0z suites continue it.

I am starting to sense NASHVILLE will be left out of the SNOW action... and may only  be Frozen Rain at best .

Anyone trying to watch MEG's Youtube live update? Their twitter feed said they are live but I'm just getting "live stream is starting soon" on my end.

MEG is doing a live update. I'm at work so can't watch.

Also NWS office in Little Rock has fallen a smidge below freezing and is experiencing freezing drizzle.

And JAN has a Winter Storm Warning and an SVR for Holmes County.

I am planning to watch. Will try to update their thoughts here as best I can. Still waiting on the stream to start.
