What is the all-time record snowfall for places like Memphis, Jackson, and Clarksville?

I know for Nashville, it is 17" from a storm back in March 1892 (I think that was the year).  There were records of trains being stuck in snow drifts across Middle TN.  I believe Memphis and West TN had similar effects.

So, high volume system use was overwhelming chat, and it had to be taken down.  I have a feeling that will remain the case through Friday's storm.

Looks like further discussion and analysis will be here.

The 24 hour record for CKV is 12 inches in 1917. I think it was in late Jan but I will have to check. In my lifetime here in CKV I have witnessed snows of 10 inches in 69 and 8 inches in 85, and 9 in march 08 but it didn't stay long. Of course several 6-7 inch snows in the mid 70's here that actually stacked on one another. But for a 24 hour period the biggest in my lifetime here was Dec 25,1969 10 inches in Montgomery county. I was 5 and barely remember it but it hooked me on snow I think. I would love to see the record fall, but I will take a 6 inch snow and run also. ::popcorn:: ::snowman::

Ensemble data concerns me as it doesn't have the TROWAL nearly as organized early on as the operational models. Basically the MEG area gets left out of much significant snowfall. Operational GGEM was similar. Must be honest I don't have great confidence right now.
Honestly,  how can you remain objective about this?  I'm about to lose my mind.

Snow up high
Won't you pour down over me
Yeah, I got some accretion

Hope so. I'm not having that warm and fuzzy feeling at the moment. Hope it all goes well for us! ::yum::

What is the all-time record snowfall for places like Memphis, Jackson, and Clarksville?

Memphis:
1. 18 inches, March 17, 1892
2. 17.3 inches, March 21-23, 1968
3. 14.3 inches, Dec. 22, 1963
4. 11.8 inches, Jan. 16, 1948
5. 9.6 inches, Jan. 7, 1884

The 17" snow in 1968 occurred during the Sanitation Workers Strike, which is why MLK was in Memphis throughout March and April 1968 until his assassination.

The other weather people say it's digging south.
Earth transforms sunlight's visible light energy into infrared light energy, which leaves Earth slowly because it is absorbed by greenhouse gases. When people produce greenhouse gases, energy leaves Earth even more slowly raising Earth's temperature. http://www.howglobalwarmingworks.org/
