Just for future reference, here is the Blizzard Warning criteria for both MEG and OHX...this, actually, may be the criteria for every NWS office.

Sustained wind or frequent gusts ≥ 35 mph & vsby ≤ 1/4 mile in snow and blowing snow for ≥ 3hrs

If I'm in Memphis my biggest concern is this hasn't finished trending S/E yet. On the cusp of glory or misery here. Euro will be critical (which already had a tight gradient focused over the metro)

GFS says a couple of inches are possible even here Saturday morning. Bring it on, I'll be doing a 12 mile run in the national park rain, snow, or shine. Should be fun.
What are you training for?

Put on my big snow boots and
I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the freezing rain

Snow up high
Won't you pour down over me
Yeah, I got some accretion
But I'm as blue as a boy can be

Safe to say OHX, MRX, even parts of HUN and even FFC may push the botton this afternoon/evening.

I'm nervous.  That's all I have to say right now.

If things trend well on the models,  would they do a winter storm watch or a blizzard watch?

I think a blizzard watch is very unlikely because of location and it's not exactly a sure thing.

Just looking at wind speeds euro also had 40 + gusts in the MS delta as did the GFS. Whoever gets that heavy snow band is going to see blizzard conditions at times.

Agreed. Too risky/too much uncertainity at this stage to issue a Blizzard Watch.

This so much reminds me of December 2012 except further east.

Fayette Co seems to be the bullseye on most maps so far.

What time on Friday are we talking about the snow arriving in the Nashville area?

If this ends up missing Memphis barely to the east I may need to be tranquilized.
