WxGeeks on TWC
« on: July 19, 2014, 09:35:20 PM »
For those unaware...TWC announced earlier this week that its premiering a new show...called WxGeeks...which premieres Sunday and will air weekly at Noon Eastern/11a Central.

Now before you go and scoff over a new TWC show...this one promises to be very different. Its a show meant for those within the meteorological community as well as enthusiasts...where interviews with big names and meaty discussions can occur. TWC is promoting it as kind of a "Meet the Press" for weather...and perhaps an even more direct comparison would be something similar to Spann's podcast.

Tomorrow's premiere will be with Chuck Doswell...the legend of storm chasing himself. The show will be hosted by Dr. Marshall Shepherd from the University of Georgia...who is probably more well known from twitter and after a very successful and highly praised run as AMS president in 2013. He's very fair and open-minded and I think will be perfect to do this.

I would suggest checking it out...especially if you're into that kind of interview/talk show format. Meteorologists who have seen the premiere episode already (it was pre-taped) are very excited about this.

It needs to be an hour long. It was way too short. The actual program ended at :24 after the hour.

Also, it was just a forum. More like Sports Reporters.

Apparently Dr. Shepard liked the WeatherBrains idea when he was on the show.
