If SW KY/NW TN gets blanked from here on out this will winter will tied with 2011-12 as the 2nd worst winter in my lifetime behind 1991-92.

this will make my second year in a row without any measurable snow...its been horrible....the most I have seen since 2010 and 2011 seasons has been 2 inches in march 2015 ...I was always used to 8-10 inches of snow a year until the mid 2000's changed it, now I am lucky to see flurries

You got 8-10 inches out of  1998-99, 1999-00, and 2001-02?  While those winters are a slight improvement to these last two, can you really even call them winters, we have had a slew of bad winters since the late 80s.

Back in the golden age 60s to the mid 80s even Southern Middle TN could rely on about 6 to 8 inches of a year and the KY/TN border down to even Nashville could rely on 10 to 14 inches a winter.  Now due to probably a variety of factors including climate change and the consistent lack of a -NAO we are in a not quite as favorable pattern.

lol I was just saying kind of on average along the western highland rim in perry, hickman, and lewis counties we used to "average" around 8-10 a season, some years more like (2003, 2010, 2011) and some years a little less but averaged out to a good 8-10....I even remember stats showing Nashville metro average season was around 8.5 inches of snow back 15 years ago....now it the stats have come WAY down for pretty much everybody...and as it stands now it has been since the winter of 2017- 2018 since I even had a measurable snowfall and it was only around 1 inch :(. I honestly think the last TRUE real gulf low scenario were the two systems in early 2011

If it makes anyone feel better I have only reported a trace since I got 1.4 inches on November 11th.  Evansville, IN has only reported a trace since they got 1.1 inches on November 11th.

If this continues this will be the first time I don't record measurable snow in the Dec-Feb period at my location since 1991-92 and I believe that will be the first time that ever occurred in Evansville, IN.

never understood why north central texas and Oklahoma get 2 or 3 good events every year even when temps are in the low 20's . if that were us, the air would be to dry and wouldn't get squat lol

agree with u there... location has to play a key factor there... we going have to hit a hail mary im afraid , kind like the system that came last day of February 2009, a big upper level low cam barreling down from the rockies that gave me 13 inches with tremendous thunder snow, one my favorite winter storms... bad part about that was some folks got little cause the tight snow gradient. go 30 miles from my house  next county got only 3 inches. while couple counties to the west got as much as 16 inches.. ::snowman::
