New video has been posted of the the monsterous north Alabama EF-5 as it passed near Hackleburg and Phil Campbell. This home was on the very edge of the path and winds I'd say are easily in the 80-100mph range. The sound is incredible and the motion of the funnel for a tornado nearly a mile wide is absolutely astounding.

It's like an unstoppable sinister entity with a mind bent on making it's 132 mile journey of death and destruction. Seeing the steady,deliberate movement across the screen and wondering what maybe going on at that moment for the people in it's path is painful.

Just when I thought I had seen all of the Tuscaloosa tornado videos, here's one I haven't seen. It's possible it's already been posted but this is the birth of the tornado as shot by a couple of people at Walgreen's.

Watching those trees whip around being pulled towards the funnel...I remember six years ago seeing the trees in my backyard doing the same thing. That guy is extremely lucky that it went just to the right of his house. It's a really good video...but I have PC speakers that are not worth anything so I didn't get to hear the rumble from it lol.

This is coverage by Fox6 as the tornado is approaching Birmingham. Of all the videos I've seen, this one has the clearest footage of large debris falling ahead of the tornado and tremendous lightning.

I spotted an error in that. With Figure 5, on diagram "e", it says "Marion/Winston EF4" with the supercell that produced the Haleyville EF3, which is subsequently corrected in diagram "f".

Also, that line segment producing a tornado with a 95 km path length is silly, despite it really being more of a semi-discrete supercell embedded within.

Those four examples of extreme damage from the outbreak really sum it up, these tornadoes were entirely different animals.
