It makes me angry that places like North Georgia is going to get all of this snow and we hardly get anything.  What will it take to get a good snow here?  I mean really...what do we have to do??

It's no use to fret about anything at this point.  Just a simple jog of the low 50-75 miles will GREATLY impact who sees what and how much.  After tomorrow's 12z and 18z runs, we'll see who sees what and how much.  At that point, the low position should be hammered out and we'll need to start watching the temps to see how quickly they fall.  Don't get angry over a single run...it'll only make you angrier.   ;D

No kidding...I moved here from Atlanta 5 years ago this month...and I think if you total the snowfall from the last 5 years for Atlanta and BNA..they are probably close to the same, or Atlanta might jump ahead after this weekend. I'm beyond frustrated by that....

My mom just called, almost alarmed........ ::pondering::........ >:D

Mom: They say we're getting snow and maybe SOME accumulation.

Me: In Nashville? ::whistling::

Mom: Yeah.

Me: Tonight?

Mom: No, tomorrow evening.

Me: Really? Do you have bread?

Mom: I got some on Wednesday, maybe I should get more.

Me: What about milk? I think I only have a gallon left.

Mom: When I go to the store for bread, I'll get more milk and also get some for you.

Me: I filled up my gas yesterday. Do you think I should get more?

Mom: You might want to, you know how people get when they mention snow around here. OK, I'm going to go to the store before they run out of milk and bread, Love you!

Me: You too Mom! Thanks!  ::shrug::....::flag::

Earth transforms sunlight's visible light energy into infrared light energy, which leaves Earth slowly because it is absorbed by greenhouse gases. When people produce greenhouse gases, energy leaves Earth even more slowly raising Earth's temperature. http://www.howglobalwarmingworks.org/

12Z GFS still shows West TN seeing more action than Middle TN, before the best precip moves through AL and GA.

And, the Carolinas still get slammed on this run as well.  Congrats to NC and SC... this could be a big one for them.

There is a small bit of good news..

if you compare the 6z Sunday maps of both the NAM and the GFS...the 850 is 30-50 miles further NE in the 12z run compared to last nights 0z. It's a minor difference, but if the trend continues in the 0z tonight, it puts us back in a pretty good spot.

My detailed analysis of the 12z GFS and its effects on middle and eastern tennessee:

the area of NC that already has a major snowfall this year gets another one and we get nothing

Winter 2009-10 Snowfall: 11.5 in. :)
Winter 2010-11 Snowfall: 15.5 in. :)
Winter 2011-12: Trace
Winter 2012-2013: 0.25 in.
Winter 2013-14: 10.6 (9.5 on 2/12)
Winter 2014-2015: 10.25 in.
Winters 2015-2019: basically nothing
Winter 2019-2020:
2/8/20: 4.25

If you take the run literally, not that great, sorry to say.

But, there's still time to watch the track shift one direction or the other.

That's hilarious.  ::rofl::

She even had to use lifelines to get to that point.

I still very much question temps and how much moisture this thing will have with it.  I think a lot of people could be disappointed because of temps except those close to the ULL.  This isnt going to be a wide area snow producer.  At least in my opinion, as of right now, which can change at a moments notice.   ::whistling::

So basically, Nashville might get a dusting to very small slushy coating, while west, south, and east of here will see 2 to 4 or even more. Even Atlanta is set to see up to foot. So again Nashville gets screwed. It seems to snow a circle around Nashville about once every 4 years or so and with the exception of 2003, just nothing more than an inch here period.  ::shrug:: ::bangingheadintowall::
