I don't have an available vehicle.  I'll have to go as a ride along.

Dude, if your serious, I'll ride shotgun with the camcorder.

Of course I'm serious. I always chase during big severe events around here.

When is the impending "D-Day" so to speak?  Feb 5 or 6?

18z GFS finally flipped back to match the other models. Bringing one strong low into the equation. Looks like it'll definitely be a fun couple days.

Eric, timing not 100% quite yet so can't nail down a date for sure between the 2.

Tala, you're more than welcome to come along.

Sweet.  I'll bring a camera.  Anyone planning to bring a weather radio/scanner/ham radio/bacon sandwich?

Ron, please PM me with date and time :)

Ron, your so much better at deciphering the synoptics than I will ver be, but does this resemble early spring of 2003 I think?  We had bout a week of severe weather.  Day in and day out, severe weather.  It was either 2002 or 2003.  We had just moved into our new house then and I was afraid our fresh trees would go bye-bye!!

Eric, I'd have to go back and look at reanalysis products. My memory ain't that good. LOL.

I will tell you this... from the vibes I'm getting, we're going to be in for a spectacular year for severe weather. Get your chase gear and jump bags ready!!!

Wasn't it 2003?  That's when we got the tornados in Smith, Wilson, Rutherford, Putnam and Cumberland counties all in the same day.

Yep, that sounds right.  Everything came into place and went stagnant directly over the mid-south.  Every night we had wind and storms and tornado warnings...oh my!!

If I was single....and still doing my own thing, you would NOT be able to keep me away.  HOWEVER, I don't wish to be single...or wish NOT to be a Mom (I waited a LONG time), so I will have to live vicariously through the travels our own crew.  Wouldn't it be neat, if you guys could get together and chase storms every once and awhile?

neat. :)

I'm definitely ready. When the SPC issues it, I'm on the road.

I don't want any weather that causes damage to person or property, but I would at least like to see some good strong storms. We don't get much of that up here on the northern Plateau. For some reason, Crossville which is basically the same elevation as us always gets a lot of severe weather, while we usually see the supercells die out before reaching us or squall line significantly weaken. Dunno why. Maybe because Crossville is on the western edge of the Plateau, or because we are butted up against the Cumberland Mountains?
