January 19, 2008 Snow Showers
« on: January 15, 2008, 08:20:47 AM »
Over at eastern weather, there's talk of a new storm that's suppressed on the gfs, but has shown up on the euro and the ggem. Many of the mets there are saying possibly the best southeast snows in several years. Something to watch to see if it starts showing itself on the gfs. Can't post maps from the Euro though, apparently eastern almost got sued or something.

Here's the discussion.http://www.easternuswx.com/bb/index.php?showtopic=153628

Eastern got a letter from the Euromets. LOL. They were using a provider service and the providers were releasing the Euros for publication.

It would really rub salt into the wound if southern Alabama and Mississippi got snow out of this cold shot.

BTW you can get access to those MDA Euro maps at Stormvista for $12 a month.

BTW, the GFS was showing this on the long range last week. That's why I targeted the 20th for my thinking on best chance for snow. As I said then, we needed a cold reload before we would see snow.

Canadian still hinting at something this weekend as well.  Probably wont happen but hey something to watch in the winter.  At some point if we keep putting quarters in the slot machine we are bound to get it to spit something out.  Right?!?!   ???

I think I'll let y'all follow this one.

I sometimes wonder if I personally jinx it by even talking about it.  ;)

12z Canadian still on board for something just south of us this weekend.  Wouldnt take much of a bump north to get us in the game.  Not that I put a lot of faith in the Canadian but it hasnt been that bad this winter.

It's winter and football season is almost over, what else is there to do but watch for future snowfall possibilities.

As far as gambling, I think Old Man Winter has rigged his slot machines the past few winters.

12z Canadian showing what appears to be a significant event for us on Saturday. Watch the Gfs and see if it comes around.

I'll be on board if the Euro shows it. FWIW JB thinks the GFS is wrong for this weekend.
