0z NAM won't even squeeze out a flurry for us.

Depressing. Can't wait to see if the 0z GFS does the same.

I hate it when someone compares a current weather system or a past weather system, or an entire winter season with another winter season, because there are so many variables associated with each system that each is unique. BUT, our only accumulating snowfall last year up here on top of the Plateau (other than 1/2 inch or so) was the clipper system the third week of February right before we jumped head first into spring. All indications were for about an inch or so of snow. I don't remember what happened elsewhere in the state, but up here we wound up with a skosh over 4 inches of snow and a heavy snow warning before it was all said and done.

I make that comparison not because there are a lot of similarities between that system and Tuesday's system, but I make it to say that the models often handle these seemingly dry shortwaves poorly. This isn't going to be a big event by any means, but I just have a gut feeling that it will work out fairly well for folks who want to see some snowflakes flying, at least from Nashville east. If the moisture was to deepen just a touch more than what the GFS is progging . . . . .

Light snow showers or flurries, with any dustings prolly on the Plateau.

To my amateur eyes, looking at the 0Z models released tonight, it still looks like flurry activity, with better chances for light accumulations on the Plateau.  It also looks like better moisture up in Kentucky, I suppose in connection with the clipper system.

So, all in all, about the same.

Well, at least the 0z NAM now shows some moisture in middle TN. Also, the clipper continues to trend south. Whether or not this helps us much in the end remains to be seen as it is still way to the north. QPF numbers suggest a half inch of accumulation at most for me.
