Rain!
« on: June 01, 2007, 04:01:53 PM »
We're getting a GOOD heavy shower here on the west side of Nashville right now.

Man, do we need it.  :)

Ron Howes on channel 5 just said that parts of West Nashville received a quarter inch of rain.  I believe it... it was pouring there for a few minutes.

But, it's already evaporated, pretty much.

Yeah, it was too brief of a shower we got in Belle Meade yesterday. It evaporated quick in the afternoon heat.

Rain?  What is this you speak of?  Liquid that falls from the sky?   ???

Here in Old Hickory we didnt get squat this weekend.  We cant buy a thundershower.  They were all around us this weekend and not a drop at my house.  Does anyone know Mother Nature's address, I have a few water bills to send her way.

By the way, this is why I hate summer and love winter.  Summer is just the same thing day after day after hot and humid day.  Whereas winter, I am always checking the models to see when that next possible snow day may be making an appearance.

It's so amazing to see rain in Spring Hill.  Of course, I got a late start on my garden (planted this morning...) and I hope the seeds don't wash out.. it's raining pretty hard.

I'm hoping that rain just NE of Columbia holds together to hit our yard.  Like snowdog, we got diddly squat this weekend and haven't had anything measurable since May 5th.

I watered the veggie garden this morning but it needs a good soaking as we will be leaving on vacation in a couple of days and won't be around to water at all...

We got .02" in the rain gauge.  Would've like the rain to hang around longer, but beggars can't be choosers at this point.

We got .48" yesterday in 10 minutes. It was our first rainfall in 3 weeks.

A decent shower is now moving through Belle Meade.  It shows up pretty well on the radar as well.

A decent cluster of showers moved through the Nashville area this morning.

I'm hoping we see more over the next couple of days.  Looks like a decent chance, especially tomorrow.  Pray for a good soaking.

Looks like we may finally get some!!! YAY!
How sad and pathetic is it, that when I hear LOUD rumbles of thunder at 6 something this morning, I thought we were probably being bombed by terrorists in my sound sleep, rather than even remotely thinking it may be a thunderstorm?  :D

I have no rain gauge at my house.  But, I believe I have received measurable rainfall on the last 4 or 5 days straight, including a storm last night (the thunder got my attention about 11:00 last night).

Things are much improved, with more rain coming through tomorrow.  :)

Hopefully, everybody is getting a cut in the action (the activity has been scattered, so some are getting more than others).

The grass is greening up, and it's about time to mow.  :P

I will be moving my rain gauge...today.

I'm sure we got over an inch of rain in the yard a couple of days ago, but barely a trace the last couple.  Lots of rumbles of thunder and lightning.  We did get SOME rain overnight; vehicles and plants and rocks were all wet this morning.  Glad we are getting something.  Looking forward to copious amounts tomorrow!! :P ;D :D
