Wish that map were true, but a lot of those accumulations are going to be eaten up by precip mixing.

As I think we've expected it looks like small shifts in the track of this system and the intrusion of cold air will make a big difference in what any of us see.

Am I right in thinking that it's looking like the first half of Saturday should be clear?  That's my primary concern as I have to make an early morning drive from Knoxville to Bristol and will be there until about noon, at which point I head back to Knoxville.  Maybe I'll get lucky and spend Sunday watching snow fall while I tend my fire (I know, odds are against it, but hey...).

12z GFS went warm.  Hardly any frozen stuff anywhere.  NC Piedmont gets hammered.

12z CMC is very Euroesque. Barely gets the precip to the TN/KY line.

Id hate to be a forecaster for Greenville SC right now. Euro has 20 in northern Greenville county, GFS has a dusting south to a few inches north. Shame I cant chase this week. Asheville will be a nice place to play early next week.

That's my understanding also.  Either way....safe travels!!!

Once the NAM catches up to the globals' suppression trend, it'll have the sweet spot from Nashville to the northern plateau. I'll take it.  ;)

I'm about 30 miles south of Asheville in Hendersonville, We are in a sweet spot..  it will be tough to get out and chase because the roads will be crippled for a while.. but hopefully I can post some pics/videos...  etc.

I'm just on the other side of the mountain from you.  See if you can send some of it over here.   ;)
