Looks like fall.  But, no, doesn't feel like it at all.

Growing up, September was normally the transition month to cooler.  After all, the sun is at the same position and strength as late March.  I used to keep weather records as a kid in the 80's, and there were some years we had highs in the 50's by late September on a rainy day(in eastern KY).  Doesn't happen anymore.
Id have to disagree a bit. I Mean here further south we had highs in the 60's like a week ago or so. But i do agree usually september goes from super hot to nice weather and october goes from nice to cold by halloween time. And its like lately its a month behind or at least feels that way. But maybe could be we just notice things differently as we get older. The things and events from childhood and stuff stick with us and shape our views on things as we turn to adults. Thats just the way I see it anyways. Like with snow 1inch of snow was amazing best thing ever as a child but as we get older we see it as nothing if we still want a wonderland we need much much more or we grow to hate snow because of work ect.

I understand your point.  But overall the months of September and October are far warmer than just 20 years ago.  One cool day then back to 85F-90F+ temps is not normal for even this far south in the autumn months.  But then again, I guess this is the new normal.

While we torch in 90 degree weather next week, Albertans in Edmonton have been getting snow.

At least the “source regions” are getting colder.

Florence blessed us with the first fall like day this month.  High of 71 with rain falling most of the day.  So far we've had .70."

Won't last long.  Once Florence departs, back to the 80's.

It is September 16th and it still feels volcanic outside.  That is all.

Put on my big snow boots and
I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the freezing rain

Snow up high
Won't you pour down over me
Yeah, I got some accretion
But I'm as blue as a boy can be

Should be another relatively mild to cool day from Nashville east thanks to Florence's remnants circulating overhead.  Light mist falling again this morning.

Sorry, west end.  Another day cookin'   :-\

Least the euro long range now is advertising a big lakes cutter...that’s a start to perhaps more active weather and cooler air... think it will be a stair step down pattern from there ... to more fall like weather

Bring it!  Summer has been nice but I like getting all 4 seasons when we can; a nice, colorful fall will be a great break before winter.
