Unless it changes, next weekend the long awaited change to fall-like weather will begin.  Some will probably have lows in the upper 40's by Saturday morning, with highs in the mid to upper 60's.  Gonna feel so good!

Tropical depression forming in the Gulf.

Looks to become a hurricane before making landfall somewhere along the Gulf Coast.  Some models bring it right over TN, while others turn in it eastward into the Carolinas.  Official forecast takes it more eastward.  That could change as models decide how fast or slow our fall cold front moves through later in the week.

The Carolinas really don't need another day or more of tropical rains just as they start to dry out from Florence.  Let's hope it swings west.

GFS thinks the cooler weather will arrive on Thursday in sync with this tropical system.

Speed of the front pushing the tropical system along should keep rain amounts from getting anywhere close to Florence.  Still, the Carolinas don't need any additional water from the sky right now.

Great...Iím in Port St. Joe this week which is in between Panama City and Apalachicola.  Depending on how strong this thing gets, it may be a short trip.

We were in PSJ this July. Enjoyed our vacation. Hope you get to enjoy it and the fishing should get good!

Michael could pull an Opal from 1995, but actually be strengthening up to landfall.

Hopefully not. That was the only time in my childhood that I missed school due to weather other than snow.

Michael is forecasted to strengthen rapidly and could very well end up being a weak Cat 3 at landfall. That is insane.

Yes, I know it's exciting but I'm more excited about having some lower fall dewpoints instead of tropical humid conditions!

I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the freezing rain

Snow up high
Won't you pour down over me
Yeah, I got some accretion
But I'm as blue as a boy can be
