The sad thing is that it shouldn't be a "debate" in the first place. But people choose to believe whatever they're spoonfed on cable news.

How's the weather in Russia this summer?   ::coffee::

At times, hotter than Knoxville. The last week of July was consistently in the mid to upper 80s. High temperatures have cooled to the mid 70s now. The nights are chilly. I've been wearing a jacket in the early morning hours. It has also been pretty dry here. I've seen one thunderstorm and only a few days with rain.

Internet here is very sketchy. I use a proxy for everything.

Not a bad color for August.

Iím going to Denver this weekend for the first time in my life. Planning on going to Rocky Mountain National Park and hiking Longís Peak. Itís over 14000í. Looks like temps will be in the mid 30ís to mid 50ís with decent rain chances. This will be the highest elevation Iíve ever personally been to. It wonít be impossible to see some wintry precip near the summit.
Winter 2009-10 Snowfall: 11.5 in. :)

I visited Long's Peak in the late 1970's.  It was an incredible experience; but hopefully you won't see as many leisure suits and granny dresses as I did. ::wow::

I still hope to see the Rockies in person at some point, but the furthest west I've been is eastern Kansas.  Maybe you'll get to see some snow in August.  That would be a first, I'm sure.

Speaking of firsts, this time last year we were getting ready to see the total solar eclipse--first one for me.  How time flies.

If it rains a lot, it could be a mud fest as cars park in that field out front.  ;)

The middle of next week looks pretty interesting.  Could be our first fall-ish front bringing in a breath of fresh air.

Meanwhile, this does not look like the typical August QPF forecast for the next 7 days.  I don't think I've seen this much widespread wetness without a hurricane involved in August.

I noticed the GFS is showing low 50s for lows next week. That is crazy for mid August.

Its the same with the back but the front has new building there so now its only back parking. I got stuck in my little front wheel drive car there when it rained a ton several years ago

Does anybody know if there is a way to look at archives of old WPC precip forecasts? I remember August 2013 being extraordinarily wet with no influence from tropical systems. I'd be curious to see some 7 day forecasts from that month. I think they were still HPC forecasts back then.

That was a freakishly wet summer--even far wetter for my area in east TN than this summer.  There were days and days with cloudy skies and downpours.  The lack of sun made gardening nearly impossible.
