Moisture pooling in east TN ahead of today's cold front has dewpoints in the sauna zone.  Last hour my weather station registered a dewpoint of 74. The light breeze does little to help.

Looks like it one of those summer patterns where the heat high is centered in Texas and Oklahoma- which occasionally leaves expands east but leaves us in the northwest flow for MCS and backdoor cold fronts. Wouldnít surprise me for the heat to make one brutal run eastwards with 100ís for a week before retreating. We shall see.

Similar to 2012 in some ways, although the heat isn't nearly as intense or widespread as that year (yet).  Drought was also centered in the southern plains back then, and the drought outlook shows it spreading in the same areas this summer.

What a morning.  58 and low humidity with crystal clear skies.  Almost played hooky, but my responsible side won the battle.  Sometimes I really hate him.  >:D

Best I can tell, the long range models are suggesting late December.  Just thirty-three more weeks;  it'll be huge. ;)

On the west side of the state it feels like "moist tighty whiteys" winter.

GFS has yet another tropical system coming out of the Gulf around mid-month, and drifting into the TN Valley afterwards.

My backyard weather station shows it is currently 94F after an overnight low of 59F.  Sheesh, it is only June 8.   ::hot::

Its not like this is the first 90 day either. This year sucks so far. We had a nice snow and a few other nice events but its mainly been boring and hot.

Bruce, you are my age... tanning days are done, son.  It's time for SPF 30 and a sensible hat.   ::shaking_finger::
