Hey Curt you starting the winter thread in about a month right?

I was getting heat agitated enough to start it and then .... this “cool down” helped.

Weak El Niño with the most anomalous SST warm in the mid Pacific perhaps? This is what you would get for December to March

And more to come.   Seems the eastern summer ridge has gone on a summer vacation.

Posting from a rooftop bar in Charleston SC right now. Normally this time of year it’s miserable here. Like downtown Memphis at 4 PM in August miserable. Thanks to this ULL, it feels freaking fantastic. I’ve been coming here almost every summer since I was a kid, and I never remember having weather this nice in July.
Winter 2009-10 Snowfall: 11.5 in. :)

And coming during what is normally some of the hottest "dog" days of summer.  Not too shabby.

no. Please
Let it happen next two months so.  Go ahead use cold air up... winter be super mild ... though odds are stacked with weak Niña on board it s appears ...
Come on severe wx season...

The "cold" upper level low spinning around the area has brought skies that look more like September or October the last few days.

Whoever is running the weather right now for our area, give them a raise. WOW!! When is the last time we had an end of July like this? Only downside is my grass is still growing like crazy.
