How? It seems over-done at this point.

That image is for 6 pm. Once these storms build they will explode in a hurry. Radar 3 hours from now will be MUCH different than it looks now.

Ish is about to hit the fan in the TN/AL border area and other portions of N MS/AL and potentially GA overnight.  The boundary from that leftover convection in N AL/far S TN I feel like is going to cause trouble in a few hours in that area.  An increasingly unstable atmosphere, locally backed winds, the forcing and storm mode, and an already sufficiently sheared atmosphere suggests that those areas are in for a wild ride with high-end tornado and hail threats.

I don't know how far into TN the warm front will go (I am thinking around the 840 area) but any storm that gets going near the warm front/triple point could cause tornado trouble as well.

Thats valid for 6 tonight.  Is it wrong?  Probably...but has been very consistent in painting a line of rotating supercells dancing across Mid TN.

That it has. Iím just skeptical because not much has happened thus far and it seems like that scenario is dependent upon the warm front moving much further north, which it doesnít seem like itís really going to do.

In Birmingham right now. Had a heavy downpour come through while I was on the golf course at 1:30. Immediate atmospheric recovery. Besides being a little cooler than is optimal itís got that feel. Air is super juicy here.

Look at that rapid development over western middle Tn. I think some of us may have spoken too soon including myself.

Appears a tongue of more moisture rich air is surging northward up to a rough Lexington/Columbia/Shelbyville line.

Sure did just get rather warm with intense Sunshine here in Murfreesboro.  Something just changed.

Tornado watch is inbound for the rest of Mid TN, minus Stewart and Houston, and some counties on the N Plateau.
