With temps staying below freezing except for Monday will this mess be gone by Tuesday? Have 2 ball games next week. We got about 5 inches here in Carroll Co.
This ice looks to be locked in next week...especially if we get another couple inches Monday night followed by single digit temps. It may be next Friday before any significant melting can occur.

We got pretty good melting occurring, but only because of the sun light. It will all refreeze and keep the process going. The event Monday will definitely not help the situation any.

Donít know how it looks elsewhere but the sun has done a job on the sleet here. Just about all of it not in the shade has melted away.

Dark and cloudy here today with flurries.  Overcast is so dense, the street light next door has been on all day.

Still a winter wonderland here. I doubt very seriously if there will be school Monday. This one is like the good old days.

Poplar has been plowed, salted, and is pretty much dry.  Very disappointing.  Where does all of this snow  equipment come from? Is this an appropriate use of taxpayer dollars?  The outrage!

Put on my big snow boots and
I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the freezing rain

Snow up high
Won't you pour down over me
Yeah, I got some accretion
But I'm as blue as a boy can be

Plows scraped the snow but left the sleet.

The Sun is out today, and despite the cold, it's a good day to get outside, build a fire in the pit, and work on getting rid of some of the honeysuckle vines taking over the fence.

We ended up with 2.5". Amazing how close we were to the side of the dry slot, with both Paris and Bruceton getting double what camden recieved. Secondary roads are still ice slicks.

Except for western Kentucky, this system underperformed in most of the Bluegrass state.  I guess it could be called a "bust" because many WSW areas didn't verify and were downgraded when the heavy snow didn't materialize.  My family in London received about 2 inches, but areas around Lexington and points northeast, which were supposed to get 4-6, received more like 1-2, and some got just enough to cover the ground.  Dry air entrained into the system, and the huge dry slot, pretty much killed the chance for hefty snow totals there.

I forgot how peaceful a snowpack is. You can here a bird a half a mile away. Looks like we will have good snow on the ground for over a week. It has been a while.
