GFS has 43 Friday morning here. That sounds amazing. BTW I think we did hit 90 again today before the rain hit, making the total 102 days of 90+. I also got more than an inch of rain today! Biggest single day total in quite a while.

I sure hope that band of rain with the front holds together. Its dry down here. I put down 600 lbs of seed over the weekend. If it doesn't rain the stinkin turkeys will eat up most of it.
I put seed in the ground a little over three weeks ago. Its been bone dry since. We didn't get enough to dampen the ground here this morning.

It has that wintry post-frontal "look" with the low clouds and the cooler conditions.  If it were 30 degrees cooler, I'd say watch for flurries.

As the ULL was blowing in last night, I was out hiking and thinking about how much it felt like winter. I was in shirt-sleeves and the temp was in the 60s so it wasn't cold by any stretch, but the air just had that "smell" to it, you know?

Hey guys, I know I have been gone for 4 years up in NJ, but now that I am back, does it still rain here?  ::rofl::
I have had 1 shower at my house since moving back home to Southaven.

They decided to cut funding for rain in Southaven.

Sorry.

Sorry.

Considering I just used a push mower for my small yard at my NJ home, and I haven't bought a riding lawnmower yet for my acre here, I am ok with no rain to keep the yard stunted until winter.

Put on my big snow boots and
I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the freezing rain

Snow up high
Won't you pour down over me
Yeah, I got some accretion
But I'm as blue as a boy can be

It's too dry now, but you did miss plenty of wetness.

Starting to see color in some trees locally.  Cool nights ahead should accelerate that process.

Strong cold front came through overnight... dry.  I wonder if Matthew has robbed some of the moisture that would have otherwise been there.

Hurricanes can cause subsidence in adjacent regions.

I'm taking the morning to work on the patio and it's finally a good fall day with cool air, a good breeze, and leaves falling around the yard.  I'm also impressed with how fast the clouds are moving; wind speeds at elevation must really be something with this front.  It's nice to feel like summer is really behind us now.
