If you like 90-degree weather, enjoy today... probably the last one this year.

Much needed relief from the heat is coming...Here's a water vapor image showing the front on the move.

The Ironman was held in Chattanooga yesterday in 97 degree record tying temps. The GFS actually had this heat wave nailed from 2 weeks out. I even made a post about it. I don't want to see 90 degrees again until next May.

I wonder if last night was the last "warm" night til late May or June. I didn't get below 70. Even with the recent heat its been relatively cool in the mornings the last few weeks until last night.

Things have begun to change just over the course of the commute to work.  At home this morning in Nolensville, it still seemed like a "summer" morning with the sun shining.  Here at the office in Brentwood now, it is now overcast, and the wind has picked up a bit... already having a fallish look, even if the cooler air mass doesn't arrive in earnest until a later.

Knoxville's all-time record for 90 degree days was 78, set in 1936, and it looks like we've ended the season at 76.  What was probably our last day in the 90s did set a record, yesterday we hit 94  ::blowtorch:: which broke the old record of 92 for the day.  Now I'm waiting for that front to come through East TN and make it feel more like the end of September!

I sure hope that band of rain with the front holds together. Its dry down here. I put down 600 lbs of seed over the weekend. If it doesn't rain the stinkin turkeys will eat up most of it.

Temps in the low 70s now... with DPs falling into the upper 50s.  I would say the front is through.

So after a basically non-existent severe season I got a good bit of thunder along with torrential rain and some good wind with the front that ushered in fall weather.  Go figure  ::shrug::
