Didn't Nashville have its all time record low of -17 during the January 1985 storm? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Let's see. I was about nine years old in January 1985. I remember getting a 7 or 9 inch snow, followed by days of below zero weather. Nashville saw its all time record low of -17. I remember HUGE icecycles hanging off the roof of the house. Snow was on the ground for a couple of weeks, as I recall. It was one of the few times in my life when the snow didn't melt before we had more snow and ice. I think we ended up with layers of ice and snow by the time it was all done. The ground was frozen by the first of February. We had to go to school into June because schools were closed for so many days.Good times. I may look up some record archives to see what the daily conditions were back then.
