There's plenty of chatter....but my goodness, let's be real...it's not Snowmageddon. I can assure you - and everyone else - that this board is and will continue to be the best place to gather weather info once an event starts.
11z HRR was way too aggressive with the main line of precip. Hopefully it wont miss with the snow showers after.
Here you go coach-http://rapidrefresh.noaa.gov/hrrrconus/Welcome.cgi?dsKey=hrrr&domain=t6&run_time=12+Jan+2012+-+10ZGot a little dusting on the roofs BTW.
Is that a bit of bright banding I see developing between Clarksville and Dickson?May not be anything but rain, but there is an increase in dBz in a north-south oriented band on radar.
Getting a fairly heavy snow squall here now... Looks amazing from 9 stories up.
Where in Jackson is there a 9 story building?*************And yes, the HRRR is often a bit aggressive with snow, but when you take it into account, its the best sim radar out there. Way easier to see how things develop than the RUC or NAM sim radars.
UNIQUE SOUTHERN BONDING EXPERIENCE OF FIGHTING FOR THE LAST MILK AND BREAD ON THE SHELVES AS THE STORM APPROACHES.
i just got off work and seen the latest gfs, its most def. smoking some good sh-t.
snOMG.
Hopkinsville's ob site reported a temp. of 46F last hour...currently they are at 39F with light drizzle being reported. No doubt is this precip bringing the cold air to the surface and I wouldn't be surprised if some sleet is reported from this first line.
I'm hoping we're about to see the southern end of the precip shield explode as the low goes negative tilt. It was forecast to happen between the tenn river and I65 in western middle. We'll see.
