I think this is what Bruce is talking about:

There's precip there but 2 things:
1. Its the NAM.
2. BL temps are a major problem state wide.

We can post Accuweather Pro maps here now?  Sweet!

its still 61 here, but i look for the temps to nose dive sometime after midnight. as for snow... my guess is either rain/sleet mix or flizzard

I will be in Sewanee (elevation 2000 ft) Wednesday night. Will I see any accumulation there you think?

Sewanee seems to do very well in these kind of events. Haven't looked at the specifics of this one Today as earlier said but if there's precip...chances are it will be accumulating snow.

I am curious to see what the WFO's in the area like JLK, OHX and MRX start saying about this. Right now JKL say maybe an inch above 2500 feet, a dusting above 1500 and nothing below that in their CWA.

MRX seems to be taking a mix approach and taking their normal "higher elevations  may see accumulation" approach.

That.....seems entirely plausible.  I haven't viewed the 0z data yet, though.

0z holds pretty steady with about 3-5 inches from about 40 north and the Plateau eastward with 1-2 in the Southern Valley. Higher amounts in the far NE areas and SW Virginia.

The LP tracking from Upstate SC and between Asheville and Charlotte should mean very good things for East Tennessee.

I'll be grabbing a free trial again soon and will be sure to share!  Good to know they aren't off limits this year.

In the meantime, here is Earl's map of 10:1 ratio snow accumulations:

MRX says nothing significant in their CWA out of this, says that the moisture cuts off abruptly and that there will be a few snow showers and not much else.

My forecast went from 50 percent pops down to 30, but only 20 when it's cold enough to snow.

Not sure if they are just going on gut feelings or what, as it appears the last several suites of all models show decent moisture with this system. Also stark disagreement with the above posted graphic from HPC.

Guess we will see what unfolds over the next 12-24 hours.
