Don't knock the weather. If it didn't change once in a while, nine out of ten people couldn't start a conversation.

Yeah.. that was mainly because it looks to be another east coast system at this point... with the steering currents and upper level patterns..  And we all know how much the media turned Irene into a circus....

If it ends up another threat to the coast, I bet the TWC will not be so fast to put the entire eastern seaboard under an extreme threat on their threat level graphics. After they did that, it was game on for every Tom, Dick, and Harry on the east coast to use words like "Catastrophic."  ::doh::

Irene seemed to bring out both of the overhypers and the only 33MPH wind crowd. Lets hope that it doesn't happen that way again here.  The quicker it organizes the more poleward this system may get and vice versa.

We need some rain around here.

What bothers me about the next hurricane, the Euro model shows it right next to NYC on 9/11 which would be a terrible terrible thing to happen.

1. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAVE CONTINUED TO BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED
THIS EVENING IN ASSOCIATION WITH A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM LOCATED
ABOUT 400 MILES SOUTH OF THE SOUTHERN CAPE VERDE ISLANDS.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS APPEAR CONDUCIVE FOR FURTHER DEVELOPMENT
OF THIS LARGE DISTURBANCE...AND A TROPICAL DEPRESSION COULD FORM
DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO AS IT MOVES WESTWARD
AT 10 T0 15 MPH.
THIS SYSTEM HAS A HIGH CHANCE...NEAR 100 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A
TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS
.

Does this look to be a GOM storm or a east coast storm. I know it's a long way out but I am going to MB on Sunday is anything in the Atlantic has my attention.

Nobody knows, thats the whole fun of these threads. The climatological odds say it will recurve safely out to sea....but I would keep my eye on it, because there are some that defy those odds.
