Hot Temperatures (Late May/Early June)
« on: May 29, 2011, 12:36:04 PM »
MRX has the forecasted high temperature for Monday and Tuesday at 94 and 96 for Knoxville, while the Greeneville area has a forecasted high of 97 on Tuesday. MOS data shows dewpoints in the mid to upper 60’s as well in some areas. I can’t say that I’m ready for those temperatures yet.

I figured this is the biggest weather story in the area right now, so I decided to start a discussion.

I don't care much for the heat.  With the way severe weather season went we need a break even if it is a hot one.

We need some rain around here.

Not sure I've ever been happier to see a 590dm Ridge coming into play...

Yes gotta love it...however they could shave a few degrees off as far as I'm concerned, low 80's is almost perfect weather  ::guitar::

Admittedly, the summer weather is more bearable here on the Plateau than it is any other place in the state outside the mountains, with highs rarely climbing to or above the mid 90s. But I do enjoy hot weather. It will start to take its toll on me eventually and by mid July I will be ready for a change of seasons, but the ever changing weather is one thing I like about this part of the country. I like hot temps in the summer just as much as I like cold temps in the winter. (Those moderate temps in the fall are nice, too, but I don't like October weather in June, or vice-versa.)

Blah. I'd rather wait until midsummer to actually have to deal with a midsummer pattern. Benign weather is fine, but I really hate the heat. I've lived in this area my whole life and still don't tolerate it well.

I agree.  Some people say winter with its gray, cold and cloudiness is depressing but to me walking out of the house at 8am and being hit with that wall of humidity and breaking a sweat by the time I get to my car is far more depressing.

I'm depressed looking at that uniform forecast, the same thing every day just about.

This. I grew up on the Gulf Coast, and it's even worse there. Give me ice and snow anyday! ::snowman::
