*BUMP*As I'm about to upgrade to an iPhone, would you consider this to be the best WX app out there? Or is there something better by now? I know TWC has their own app for the iPhone but I would prefer something with more meat than their app.
Do any push through local alerts like an actual NOAA radio? My NOAA radio alerts to whole state regardless of programming just local county's codes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just one more quick question on this topic... Kevin do you and Erik at MWN have any plans to make an app for the iPhone since you now have one available for the Droid phones?
Bear with me on this one...MWN has an iPhone app...he's add one for sometime. In fact he completed the 2.0 version of it back over early Fall which had StormWatch+ capability (push notifications based on GPS location...it will know whether you're in a polygon and if not - no push). It got approved by Apple and released within days...but the app had a significant bug in it which caused it to crash on startup. The app was taken out of the store to prevent the bugged release from further getting out...and a fix was completed within hours...then submitted back to Apple.Unfortunately...Apple took is sweet...sweet time to do the new review. Normally a process that takes a week or less...it took Apple until the second week of January to get back to it...over 4 months...and then rejected it!At that point...modifications were made...the app was resubmitted...and Apple rejected it again! At least only taking 2 days that go around. More adjustments have been made and the app is being resubmitted (hopefully for the last time) on Monday. If there's any luck...next week it will be out...but given Apple's history...don't bet on it.
FYI - the MWN iPhone app has been approved! It should be available soon...if not tonight hopefully by tomorrow. Its already in iTunes but its been postdated to 2/3 which is apparently causing some people to have problems seeing it in the App Store or downloading it correctly. We're hoping that should resolve in the coming hours...
