So you are predicting a cooler than normal summer, based in part on how it "feels" right now, , 43 days from the first day of summer?

Of course, you are entitled to your base it on whatever, it is your prediction.
You know like how you can wake up in the morning and say that "it's tornado weather," even if you don't watch the weather?  Or how you can "feel" the air and say that snow is on the way?  That's what I mean.

Not completely scientific but there is a component thereof, you know?  And yeah, that could be wrong, but that's what I get for going out on a limb.

But, those are "the day of" things.  Anyone can feel conditions that might foretell weather coming that day.

You're doing this for a whole season.  That's a little different.  ;)

While I have to agree there is no way you can predict a whole season of weather based on what it feels like outside now, I have seen a few things that lead me to believe that this summer will be cooler than normal, MSLP's are forecast to be lower than normal this hurricane season over the SE, that leads me to believe that the SE and Bermuda ridges will be much more relaxed this summer. Not to mention we are getting into the meat of this cool phase of the pdo.

I learned an old farmer saying yesterday while hanging out in Arkansas.. They said if it rains on the first day of the month, you'll get 15 days of rain in that month. One of the guys I was talking to said he's counted it and its right more often than not. Im not sure theres anything scientific in that. But its an old saying that has been around for many moons, so maybe there is some truth to it.

Bummer... I'll miss the familiar urgency of the all caps regardless of the real urgency.
A TRANQUIL WEATHER PATTERN BRINGING FAIR SKIES WILL DOMINATE THE REGION.
