I agree that  starting the process up again could be potentially dangerous.  I believe the government should go ahead and step in for now and start up the process and be the responsible party in case something bad happened.

Another 3.5 hit the area near Greenbrier/Guy Arkansas.  Wonder if they are back drilling at that spot, a related aftershock, or is it something else?

We need some rain around here.

I wonder what the status is of the drilling/fracking operations there (anyone know?).

My wife and I visited her cousins in Arkansas a couple of weeks ago.  And, one of her cousins works for a pipeline company.  One thing about these quakes is that they are being measured at around the same depth as the quakes of the New Madrid zone further east.

I was talking to my wife's cousin about it, and he pointed out that those operations only go down to about 3000 or 4000 feet.  But, the quakes are being measured 3-4 miles below the surface.  Based on that, he doubted that it was really the cause...

I wonder what the status is of the drilling/fracking operations there (anyone know?).

I keep in contact with a friend who is Fire Dispatcher in Conway AR... I asked her a couple days ago if they had started up the fracking again, because of the 3+M earthquakes Im getting usgs emails again...   And she said "Not that we have heard. But theres been a lot of shaking going on."

Greenbrier is about 10 mi north of Conway. And Guy is about 7 mi north of Greenbrier.

Bummer... I'll miss the familiar urgency of the all caps regardless of the real urgency.
A TRANQUIL WEATHER PATTERN BRINGING FAIR SKIES WILL DOMINATE THE REGION.
