Every inch of this is man's bull$hit. They call this war a cloud over the land. But they made the weather and then they stand in the rain and say '$hit, it's raining!'---Ruby from the movie, "Cold Mountain".

T-Totally agree with you.. seems like West Tn has been getting more snowstorms than East Tn has in the past 5 years... time for a change guys.. I'm heading down to the Memphis weather pyramid and entering some digits.... This time, I know what I'm doing...  :D

I don't think West TN has gotten much in the way of "big snow" this year unless I missed something...

...nor are they expected to this time around either.

Knoxville has had more than Memphis for sure this winter. This weekend looks to be more nuicance than anything for just about everyone. The upcoming pattern over the next 2 weeks will more than likely favor winter weather west of the Apps though, if anything were to even occur.

What you should be saying is Tulsa Tulsa Tulsa, you know kinda like Marcia Marcia Marcia.

Pssh... You eastern folks should go have a talk with your friends down in Chatty.  They are the snow hogs this winter.  Or like Curt said, Tulsa.  They will likely get more than all of us combined this storm...

Let's review Knoxville snowfall wise this winter... Knoxville leads the big 3 cities in snowfall so far this winter with 11.2" and has recorded snowfall on 22 days out of the first 2 months of Meteorological Winter, so on average you guys have had snow fall about every 3 days (21 days/ 61 days). One of those snowfalls was a 4"+ snowfall on the 10th of this month and 6" combined from the Christmas event  (2.5" 25th and 3.9" on the 26th).

Do I need to move on to Chattanooga?  ::shaking_finger::  ;)

Stop whining Tom, the snow has been great in east TN this year, Knoxville has already met its average annual snowfall mark, I would expect east tn to finish above average also.

ROFL!! Tell me your kiddin'. I don't know where you are gettin' your numbers from, but I didn't see anywhere NEAR 6" in the Christmas snow. I got 2 1/2. And the 10th snow, I got maybe 2. Pass some of what you're smokin' over here, please.

Can we take this somewhere else... I dont think anyone should be jealous of W Tenn's snowfall this year.

lol Clay, Homemommy lives in Knoxville (or close to it), and I live very close to it; we both can verify that 6 inches did NOT fall on December 25th/26th, and 4 inches did NOT fall on Jan. 10th. Dec 25th we recieved 2-3 inches, and 2 inches during that 'big dog' system.

Meanwhile, the gfs has been the most consistent with this storm, the Euro and CMC have been all over the place. I will go with the gfs at this point. We'll see what 18z has to say. ::yum::

Woohoo!! Several 1-2 inch snows FTW.... not.  ::doh::

Who cares? The point is you already have your average snowfall and look to excede it. Go make a Winter complaint thread and stop using this one to cry and moan about how you should have got more snow than average by now, seeing that Febuary is just beginning. ::)
